The Korea Local Finance Association (Chairman Jung Seonyong, hereinafter referred to as the Association) signed a business agreement with the National Disaster Safety Education Center on January 9 and pledged mutual cooperation for the advancement of professional education in disaster safety.

The main points of the business agreement include: ▲ joint research and shared use of curricula in the field of disaster safety education; ▲ sharing of policies, research, and statistical data related to disaster safety, as well as exchange of professional instructors; and ▲ promotion of joint projects for disaster safety education and co-hosting of workshops and seminars.
Jung Seonyong, Chairman of the Association, stated, "This business agreement provides an opportunity for the Association to share the practical disaster management expertise it has accumulated through the operation of its mutual aid projects with the National Disaster Safety Education Center's training capabilities. We will strive to lead the development of disaster safety education through collaboration between the two organizations."
Meanwhile, in December of last year, the Association was designated by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety as a specialized education institution in the field of disaster safety. Starting this year, it plans to provide and operate free disaster safety education for local governments.
The Association is the only public interest corporation in Korea established to promote sound fiscal management and development of local governments. It has more than 420 member organizations and groups, including 243 local governments nationwide. Based on the spirit of mutual aid, the Association carries out a variety of projects, including mutual aid projects, local finance support projects, and regional revitalization support projects.
