Consistent Commitment Through Scholarships and Welfare Funds
A Model of "Noblesse Oblige"
Pi Moonchan, CEO of Sanchan Textile Co., Ltd., has joined the Honor Society, a group of major donors, delivering a heartwarming message to the local community at the very start of the new year.
Cheongdo County announced on January 9 that a ceremony was held at the county office to mark CEO Pi Moonchan's induction into the Honor Society.
The Honor Society is an association of individual major donors who have contributed at least 100 million won through the Community Chest of Korea or pledged to do so within five years.
This particular induction is especially meaningful as it marks the first new member of the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea in 2026.
With this, CEO Pi becomes the 10th member from Cheongdo County and the 194th member overall in Gyeongbuk Province to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Well known as a “distinguished native with deep affection for his hometown,” CEO Pi Moonchan has consistently demonstrated exceptional commitment to Cheongdo.
He has not only provided scholarships to his alma mater, Mogye Middle and High School, but has also actively supported the Cheongdo County Talent Development Scholarship Foundation, the Senior Welfare Fund, and donations for neighbors in need, making significant contributions to the development of the local community and leading social contribution efforts in various ways.
CEO Pi Moonchan stated, “I am very pleased and honored to be able to bring courage and hope to my hometown of Cheongdo by joining the Honor Society, and I intend to continue making meaningful donations in the future.”
Kim Hasu, Mayor of Cheongdo County, said, “I deeply appreciate CEO Pi Moonchan’s sincere generosity and wholeheartedly congratulate him on joining the Honor Society. I am confident that the positive influence he has shown will create a virtuous cycle, making Cheongdo County an even warmer and happier community.”
