This qualification screening targeted a total of six chapter president candidates, including those from the Namsuyeong, Buk Sasang, Busanjin, Seo, Yeongdo, and Haeundae chapters. The Busan Veterans Association intends to build trust in the overall election process through this preliminary verification procedure.
To ensure a fair evaluation, the association formed a screening committee chaired by Army Vice President Song Sangho, thereby strengthening objectivity and credibility. The committee focused on comprehensively assessing not only the candidates' career backgrounds and activity records but also their character and qualifications for serving as chapter president.
Byun Jeomseop, Director of Administration at the Busan Veterans Association, stated, "Since the chapter president represents the local veterans association in a key role, we thoroughly examined candidates' morality, leadership, and organizational management abilities," adding, "This preliminary qualification screening is intended to establish a transparent and trustworthy election culture."
The Busan Veterans Association plans to elevate the organization's stature by adhering to fair procedures and principles, and to select individuals who can contribute to harmony among members and the development of the local community.
