Namyangju City Boys and Girls Choir Embarks on a New Journey with New Conductor

Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on January 9 that it had appointed a new conductor for the Namyangju City Boys and Girls Choir at the city hall on January 8.

The newly appointed conductor, Ham Heeyoung, previously served as a guest conductor for the Namyangju City Boys and Girls Choir and has a wide range of experience, including conducting the Seongnam Sujeong-gu Women's Choir. The city expects that this appointment will further enhance the choir's musicality and organizational strength.


Mayor Joo Gwangdeok stated, "The City Boys and Girls Choir is a valuable asset that will lead the future of culture and the arts in Namyangju. I hope that the appointment of the new conductor and the recruitment of new members will serve as an opportunity for the choir to grow to the next level."


The city plans to recruit new members until January 13 to strengthen the choir's capabilities and promote a variety of stage activities. The recruitment is open to youth aged 9 to 18, and applications can be found through the announcement posted on the city's official website.


Meanwhile, since its founding in 2012, the Namyangju City Boys and Girls Choir has continued to hold regular concerts and special performances, expanding opportunities for cultural exchange and artistic enjoyment within the local community through music.
