Daegu Urban Development Corporation Selected as Excellent Participant in "Safety Management Level Assessment"

Daegu Urban Development Corporation announced on January 9 that it has been selected as an excellent participating organization in the "2025 Safety Management Level Assessment" for public construction project participants, as announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.


The safety management level assessment has been conducted annually by the Korea Infrastructure Safety and Technology Corporation since 2017 to encourage autonomous safety management activities among construction project participants and to systematically evaluate their safety management capabilities.

The assessment covers a total of 153 detailed indicators, including the establishment of a dedicated safety organization, the execution of safety management work in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, voluntary safety inspection activities, and support for the identification and elimination of risk factors in advance. It also comprehensively evaluates the number of fatalities at construction sites, and organizations are rated on a five-tier scale: Excellent, Very Good, Average, Poor, and Very Poor.


This year's assessment included participation from 104 ordering agencies nationwide. Amidst fierce competition, Daegu Urban Development Corporation was named as one of the 13 organizations selected as Excellent, while only one organization received the Very Excellent rating.


In 2025, Daegu Urban Development Corporation strengthened on-site safety inspections, enhanced safety education, and expanded worker participation in safety activities to improve the substance of on-site safety management. This year, the corporation is further strengthening its safety management functions by revising its organizational regulations to establish a Safety Management Office directly under the president.


President Jeong Myungseop stated, "This recognition in the safety management level assessment is the result of all executives and employees prioritizing safety and practicing on-site safety management. We will continue to proactively and systematically strengthen safety management to create a construction environment where both citizens and workers can feel secure."
