On January 8, Namyangju City announced that it had attended the "2026 New Year's Meeting" hosted by the Gyeonggi Eastern Chamber of Commerce and Industry, reaffirming its commitment to advancing the regional economy in the new year together with local business leaders.

This New Year's meeting was organized as an opportunity for key players in the regional economy to gather in one place, strengthen the foundation for public-private cooperation, and begin 2026 with optimism.
The event was attended by over 100 people, including Joo Gwangdeok, Mayor of Namyangju City, Lee Honggyun, Chairman of the Gyeonggi Eastern Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kim Daesoon, Second Vice Governor of Gyeonggi Province, members of the National Assembly, provincial and city council members, officials from related organizations, and representatives of local businesses. Participants shared New Year's greetings and celebrated the hopeful start of the year with a rice cake cutting ceremony.
In his greeting, Mayor Joo expressed his deep gratitude to the business leaders who have sustained the regional economy despite challenging economic conditions. He stated, "Namyangju City will make 2026 a turning point for the local economy by stabilizing livelihoods and strengthening industrial competitiveness."
