This inspection was part of a three-stage prevention program that was implemented following the fire at the Okjeong Logistics Center construction site in September 2025 and the subsequent resumption of construction. It was designed to prevent a recurrence of fire and to proactively eliminate risk factors at each stage of the construction process. In particular, this third inspection marked the final stage of the prevention activities, with a focus on comprehensively assessing the overall safety management status of the construction site.
Yangju Fire Station has been conducting these inspections in phases, starting with the first joint inspection in November 2025, followed by the second in December, and now this third inspection, continually checking for risk factors as construction progresses.
The inspection on this day included the Yangju Fire Station’s Prevention Measures Team and Fire Safety Investigation Team, as well as the Korea Gas Safety Corporation. The joint inspection focused on ▲ fire vulnerability factors, ▲ management of combustible materials, and ▲ safety management of hazardous operations such as gas and welding.
As a result of the inspection, minor issues were corrected on site immediately, while for significant violations, the relevant agencies plan to issue joint improvement orders and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
With the completion of this third inspection, Yangju Fire Station will conclude the joint prevention inspections and transition to a regular safety management system by each relevant agency, continuing to strengthen construction site safety management.
Chief Moon Taewoong of Yangju Fire Station stated, "Although there was a fire during the construction process, since then, related agencies and the construction company have actively cooperated to strengthen safety management, and the project is now in its final stages. At this point in time, it is more important than ever to remain vigilant and thoroughly check risk factors at every stage of the process. Yangju Fire Station will do its utmost, in close cooperation with related agencies, to prevent fires and ensure on-site safety until the completion of construction."
