Police Tracking Two Men Who Fired Bow from 70 Meters Away
Late at night, an incident occurred in a downtown square in Cheongju where an arrow, believed to be a lethal archery arrow, landed near a woman who was out for a walk. The police have identified two men as suspects and have launched an investigation.
According to the Cheongwon Police Station in Cheongju on January 8, at around 11:40 p.m. the previous night, a woman in her 50s, referred to as Ms. A, reported to the police from Youth Square in Sangdang-gu, Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, saying, "It seems that someone shot an arrow." She stated that after hearing a strange sound and looking around, she discovered an arrow stuck in a flower bed nearby.
At the time, Ms. A was walking her dog, and it was determined that the arrow landed approximately 1.5 meters from the dog and about 2.5 meters from Ms. A herself.
The discovered arrow was about 80 centimeters long and was equipped with an iron arrowhead. The police believe that the arrow is likely a lethal archery arrow.
After analyzing nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, the police captured images of two men firing an arrow with what appeared to be a bow from a distance of about 70 meters. The police have identified these two men as suspects and are currently tracking them.
A police official stated on January 8, "As this is an ongoing investigation, it is difficult to provide specific details at this time."
