Woo Jusang, CEO of Homelift Korea, received the Grand Prize at the Global Choi Kang Myung In Awards in recognition of his contributions to improving residential environments in an aging society.
Homelift Korea announced that at the Global Choi Kang Myung In Awards ceremony held on December 29, CEO Woo was selected as the Grand Prize recipient for addressing mobility issues within residential spaces from an industrial perspective and pioneering the domestic home lift market.
The Global Choi Kang Myung In Awards are presented to individuals recognized for their social value and expertise in various fields.
CEO Woo has focused on establishing residential mobility devices as a core part of the housing industry, rather than simply welfare equipment, by highlighting the reality that elderly people and those with limited mobility are often forced to give up their homes or move because of stair-related challenges.
Homelift Korea has introduced Swedish-made residential home lifts to Korea, applying them to a variety of spaces such as single-family homes, duplexes, churches, and care facilities.
He stated, "One of the biggest blind spots in an aging society is mobility within the home. We need an approach that transforms the residential environment itself, beyond just medical care or nursing. The aging society industry is not limited to healthcare or nursing; it encompasses housing, mobility, and all aspects of daily life. We are actively discussing not only technological advancements but also improvements in perception and institutional issues."
Meanwhile, CEO Woo Jusang has a diverse background, including serving as the official Korean partner of Sweden's Aritco, establishing a specialized distribution, installation, and maintenance system for home lifts, and acting as the president of the alumni association for the University of Michigan CEO program.
