Yeoju City Council Delivers Special Red Cross Membership Fee, Joins in Humanitarian Efforts

Yeoju City Council in Gyeonggi Province, chaired by Park Doohyung, held a ceremony on January 6 at the council building to deliver the special membership fee for the Korean Red Cross for 2026, with representatives from the Korean Red Cross in attendance.

The ceremony was attended by Lee Jaejung, President of the Gyeonggi Province Branch of the Korean Red Cross, Choi Yoongeun, Director of the Eastern Volunteer Center of the Gyeonggi Province Branch, Hwang Youngsun, President of the Yeoju City Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association, and about ten others.

Yeoju City Council delivered a special membership fee of 1.5 million won, which will be used to support the Korean Red Cross's humanitarian activities, including public healthcare support, disaster relief, and protection of vulnerable groups.

Chairman Park Doohyung stated, "I deeply appreciate the spirit of the Red Cross, which has always been at the forefront of protecting lives through public healthcare and disaster relief." He added, "I hope this special membership fee will contribute, even in a small way, to the practice of humanitarianism and the spread of the value of respect for life." He also pledged, "Yeoju City Council will continue to participate in community sharing and solidarity in the future."

Meanwhile, the fundraising goal for the 2026 Red Cross membership fee in Yeoju City is 80 million won. The intensive fundraising period runs until March 31, and the annual fundraising period continues until November 30. The funds raised will be used to support vulnerable groups in the region and for emergency disaster response.
