On January 8, the city of Pocheon in Gyeonggi Province will begin its "2026 Empathy and Communication Meeting with Residents of Towns and Districts," starting in Sinbuk-myeon.
This resident communication meeting is designed to directly engage with citizens, share the city’s administrative direction, and broadly listen to local issues and suggestions by region.
During the meeting, the city will present major municipal achievements from 2025 as well as key plans for 2026. Residents will also discuss policies that have been implemented so far and the city’s future direction. In addition, the city will provide updates on the handling and progress of suggestions submitted during the "2022-2025 Empathy and Communication Meetings," sharing how citizen feedback has been reflected in municipal administration.
Unlike formal report-based meetings, this event will be conducted in a free discussion and Q&A format, allowing residents to directly express inconveniences they experience in daily life and propose ideas for local development. Questions that can be answered on the spot will be addressed immediately, while matters requiring further review will be managed continuously in coordination with relevant departments to ensure effective communication.
A Pocheon City official stated, "This resident communication meeting is an opportunity to share the city’s achievements so far and envision future plans together, while also placing citizen feedback at the heart of city administration. We will continue to pursue a responsive and communicative administration that listens to and answers citizens on site."
