Sinan County in South Jeolla Province has finalized its 2026 regional health care policy direction, aimed at eliminating medical blind spots in island areas and strengthening customized health services for residents.
The county announced that on January 7, it held the "Sinan County Regional Health Care Review Committee" meeting in the county office's video conference room, where it reviewed the mid- to long-term regional health care plan and the annual implementation plans.
This review committee was formed in accordance with the Regional Health Act and related ordinances. Of the 12 committee members, including health care experts and community representatives, 9 attended the meeting in person.
The meeting focused on in-depth discussions regarding key agenda items, including: ▲ changes to the 8th mid- to long-term regional health care plan, ▲ analysis of the 2025 (third year) implementation results, ▲ the 2026 (fourth year) implementation plan, and ▲ the comprehensive management plan for the home medical center.
The county plans to thoroughly analyze the 2025 implementation results to address any shortcomings, and in 2026, will prioritize improving medical accessibility tailored to the characteristics of island regions and strengthening essential health care services.
In particular, the county will establish an efficient comprehensive management system for the "home medical center," which is currently operated for seniors with limited mobility, to further support the stable provision of professional medical, nursing, and care services at home.
A county official stated, "We will actively incorporate the diverse opinions of the committee members to implement effective health care policies that residents can truly feel," adding, "We will do our utmost to create a healthy Sinan County free from medical blind spots."
Meanwhile, the county plans to finalize the third-year implementation results and the fourth-year implementation plan for the 8th regional health care plan, reflecting the outcomes of this review, and will report them in person to the county council on January 9 before submitting them to South Jeolla Province and the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
