The Deputy Governor stated, "Wildfires can cause enormous damage once they occur, so I urge all residents to exercise special caution." He also stressed, "Recently, the risk of wildfires caused by carelessness has been increasing among farms using wood boilers and traditional fireplaces, so it is essential to thoroughly manage embers and used ashes to prevent them from being blown away by the wind during use."

He further noted, "Since Ssangchaek-myeon has many areas adjacent to forests, heightened awareness of wildfire prevention is especially necessary." He added, "Along with providing information on wildfire prevention, residents must work together to create a wildfire-free Ssangchaek-myeon through collective cooperation."

Attending the village heads’ meeting held that day, the Deputy Governor commended Ssangchaek-myeon for achieving five consecutive years without a wildfire. He recognized that the proactive attention and promotion by village heads are of utmost importance for wildfire prevention, and called for continued interest and cooperation so that residents can voluntarily take part in wildfire prevention activities.

With this visit as a catalyst, Ssangchaek-myeon plans to implement even more thorough wildfire prevention activities, and it is expected that the active participation of residents will play a crucial role in preventing wildfires.
