The National Garden Material Center is being constructed in the Sangjungdo Gosan area (872 Jungdo-dong), as a three-story building with a total floor area of 2,000 square meters. The project is approximately 60% complete. The total project cost is 16.5 billion won, fully funded by the national government, with the Korea Forest Service and the Korea Arboretum and Garden Management Agency leading the initiative. The center will house a garden mall, exhibition hall, and conference rooms, and will be responsible for the research, demonstration, exhibition, and distribution of plants and materials used in gardens. After its completion in July this year, pilot operations are scheduled to begin in October.

In relation to this, Yook Donghan, Mayor of Chuncheon, visited the construction site of the National Garden Material Center on the 7th to inspect the progress of the project.
