KT Bundang Headquarters 'Bomb Threat Post'... Police Conclude Situation Due to Low Risk

It was belatedly confirmed that a bomb threat incident occurred at the KT headquarters building in Bundang, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

According to the police, at around 6:05 p.m. on January 5, a post was made on the KT mobile phone activation consultation board stating, "A bomb has been installed at the KT headquarters in Seongnam and it will be detonated at 9 p.m." The post went on to say, "If 10 billion won is not deposited into Toss Bank, I will commit a stabbing," and included an account number.

Upon receiving a report from KT, the police were dispatched to the scene but determined that the threat level was low. They concluded the situation by assigning patrol cars from the nearby police precinct to maintain a presence and deploying two riot police teams.

The police confirmed that a similar threat had been made against the headquarters of Toss Bank on December 31, 2025, and that the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency is currently investigating. They suspect that the same individual is responsible for both incidents.

Previously, from December 15 to 23, 2025, there were a total of 11 bomb threats targeting companies such as Kakao, Naver, KT, and Samsung Electronics.
