Kim Dongyeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, stated that a document related to the Yangpyeong Expressway housing project involving Kim Keonhee's family has been confirmed, and expressed the need for a second comprehensive special investigation.
On January 7, Governor Kim posted on his social networking service (SNS), lamenting, "The 'family business' of Yoon Sukyeol and Kim Keonhee's family is truly becoming more and more outrageous."
He went on to say, "A document has emerged showing that Kim Keonhee's family planned a housing project at the modified endpoint of the Yangpyeong Expressway," and pointed out, "Even after securing this document, which serves as decisive evidence of higher-level involvement in the route change, the special investigation failed to probe those at the top."
He insisted, "A second comprehensive special investigation is necessary," adding, "We must thoroughly and properly uncover everyone involved at the top and at the core of the Yangpyeong Expressway allegations, all the way to the end."
Governor Kim Dongyeon of Gyeonggi Province posted a message and photo on his social media on the 7th.
He further added, "This is what the public demands and the way to uphold justice."
Previously, controversy arose when it was revealed that Kim Jinwoo, the brother of Kim Keonhee, had drafted an internal document while planning a 'country house development project' on land in Gangsang-myeon, Yangpyeong County.
This document was first created in 2016 and revised in 2020, and it directly mentions that the Seoul-Yangpyeong Expressway was 'expected to pass the preliminary feasibility study.' It also includes plans to build country houses on family-owned land in Gangsang-myeon, Yangpyeong County, along with detailed expected sale prices.
