Strategic Personnel Appointments for the Successful Completion of the 8th Administration
Geochang County in South Gyeongsang Province has carried out its regular personnel appointments for the first half of 2026, involving a total of 234 employees, including 52 promotions.
The appointments, which took place on January 6, focused on actively responding to changing administrative demands while maintaining organizational stability and strengthening the momentum of the county’s key projects. In particular, personnel were strategically assigned based on expertise and practical capabilities to ensure the successful completion of the 8th popularly elected administration.
In addition, to ensure the successful hosting of the 2027 Gyeongnam Provincial Sports Festival, the county has established a dedicated planning team for the event and will systematically prepare in advance.
In this round of appointments, a total of 52 employees were promoted: one to Grade 4, three to Grade 5, eight to Grade 6, sixteen to Grade 7, and twenty-four to Grade 8. The promotions were determined by comprehensively considering experience in addressing key county issues, work performance, and contributions to the organization.
Notably, among the Grade 5 promotions, Lee Gwanghee, Chief Secretary, was appointed as Head of the Provincial Sports Festival Planning Team; Shin Dongil, Water Quality Management Officer, was appointed as Director of the Environmental Division; and Shin Seungju, Administrative Officer, was appointed as Head of the Geochang Incident Project Office. Based on their extensive field experience and accumulated practical skills, they are expected to play a key role not only in organizational management but also in driving forward major county initiatives.
Furthermore, through personnel transfers, the county ensured continuity of work within each department and enhanced expertise in various fields, thereby improving administrative efficiency and policy execution. By assigning personnel to appropriate positions, the county has established a foundation for more effective implementation of major projects.
Key appointments include Kwon Haedo as Director of the Economic and Welfare Bureau, Kim Sungyun as Director of the Safety and Construction Bureau, Cho Jeongsun as Director of the Safety Management Division, Kim Sungkuk as Director of the Urban Architecture Division, and Kim Hyuntae as Head of Goje-myeon, thereby strengthening administrative capabilities across the county government.
County Governor Koo Inmo stated, "These appointments are aimed at strengthening our ability to address key county issues, ensuring stable county administration, and enhancing the quality of major policies. I urge everyone to fulfill their responsibilities in their respective positions and to practice field-oriented administration so that our efforts can lead to tangible results that residents can truly feel."
