The signing ceremony, held in the mayor's reception room at Paju City Hall, was attended by Paju Mayor Kim Kyungil, city officials, representatives from the Deoksu Lee Clan Association and the Chanseonggongpa branch of the Deoksu Lee Clan, as well as the direct descendant of Yulgok Yi I. The participants pledged mutual cooperation to promote the establishment of the Yulgok Culture Promotion Center.
The main points of the agreement include mutual cooperation in securing the site for the center, collaboration on the basic plan and direction for its establishment, provision of historical and cultural materials related to Yulgok Yi I held by the clan, and the establishment of a cooperative system necessary for promoting the project.
Paju Mayor Kim Kyungil emphasized, "This agreement marks an important starting point for modernizing the legacy of Yulgok Yi I and systematically developing Paju’s representative historical and cultural assets," adding, "We will do our utmost to cooperate with the Yulgok clan so that the Yulgok Culture Promotion Center can become a hub that integrates scholarship, education, and culture."
A representative of the Yulgok clan also stated, "We will work closely with Paju City to ensure that Yulgok Yi I's philosophy and achievements are properly inherited and widely shared."
