Reimbursement of Exam Fees Up to 100,000 Won Per Person
Starting this year, Guro District in Seoul (District Mayor Jang Inhong) will significantly expand its support program for language and national qualification exam fees for unemployed young adults. The district will increase the number of beneficiaries from 300 last year to 600 this year. The budget has also been doubled to 60 million won.
The "Support Program for Language and National Qualification Exam Fees for Young Adults" provides reimbursement of exam fees for unemployed young adults who take language or nationally certified qualification exams, up to a maximum of 100,000 won per person. Each individual can apply only once in their lifetime. The program covers 33 types of language exams, including English, Japanese, and Chinese, as well as 884 types of national qualification exams, including the Korean History Proficiency Test.
Any unemployed young adult aged between 19 and 39 who resides in Guro District as of the application date is eligible to apply. This includes short-term workers working less than 26 hours per week and participants in government job programs.
Applications can be submitted each month from the 21st to the end of the month either by email or by visiting the Employment Support Division at Guro District Office. After document screening and eligibility checks, recipients are selected around the 15th of each month, and the exam fee is deposited into individual accounts around the 20th. Required documents include a resident registration certificate, health insurance qualification certificate, and exam participation confirmation.
