Sunchang County Achieves Record-High 84.8% Pledge Completion Rate

67 Out of 79 Projects Completed
Average Implementation Rate Reaches 94.6%

Jeonbuk Sunchang County has achieved a record-high pledge completion rate of 84.8% as it approaches the end of the 8th popularly elected administration.

According to Sunchang County on January 6, 67 out of 79 pledges across five categories have been completed, while the remaining 12 projects are progressing as planned. As a result, the average implementation rate for all pledges has reached 94.6%, with most projects now considered to be on a stable track.

In particular, during the fourth quarter of last year, a total of 12 projects-including the construction of the Gurim Integrated Early Childhood Learning Center, the creation of the Dongsan Garden around Sunchang-eup, and the Sunchang Old Downtown Regeneration Project-were transitioned to the "continued implementation after completion" phase. Among these, the core pledge to "expand basic income support for farmers" proved successful by achieving the goal of providing 2 million won in payments as of 2025.

This high rate of pledge fulfillment has translated into greater public trust in county administration. According to the recently conducted "2025 Sunchang County Social Survey," residents' satisfaction with overall administrative operations has consistently remained high.

Building on these achievements, the county aims to earn the highest "SA" grade for pledge implementation for the third consecutive year. To this end, it plans to further strengthen resident engagement and communication by newly introducing a citizen jury in addition to the existing evaluation committee.

Choi Youngil, Governor of Sunchang County, stated, "Throughout the 8th popularly elected administration, we have focused all administrative capabilities on delivering tangible results, not just words, for the pledges made to our residents." He emphasized, "We will continue to responsibly fulfill our pledges during the remaining term to realize changes that all Sunchang residents can truly experience."
