Hampyeong County in Jeonnam is accelerating efforts to build a next-generation livestock ecosystem, proactively responding to the changing livestock environment.
On January 6, the county announced that it will allocate a total budget of 6 billion KRW for 66 support projects in the livestock sector in 2026, aiming to assist local livestock farmers.
Applications for these projects will be accepted until January 30. The program is designed to comprehensively support the management stability and productivity improvement of livestock farms, as well as to strengthen quarantine and hygiene management.
After the application deadline, the county will conduct feasibility reviews, evaluations, and deliberations for the submitted projects, and plans to finalize the selection of beneficiaries for the 2026 livestock sector support projects in February.
The main support projects include: 30 types in the livestock sector such as customized livestock competitiveness enhancement projects for farms; 16 types in the livestock hygiene sector such as support for the installation of livestock manure composting facilities; 5 types in the livestock quarantine sector such as support for vehicle disinfection facilities at farm entrances; and 15 types in the Korean beef cattle sector such as support for forage loader (grapple) equipment.
Eligible applicants are livestock farmers who have completed the required permits or registrations for livestock breeding. Farmers wishing to participate should check the eligibility criteria and requirements specified in the guidelines for each project, and submit their applications to their local town or township office. Detailed information on each project can be found in the notices section of the Hampyeong County Office website.
A Hampyeong County official stated, "We will continue to provide support to strengthen the competitiveness of the local livestock industry and establish a foundation for the production of high-quality livestock products," and added, "We encourage active participation from livestock farmers so that these efforts can lead to tangible results in stabilizing farm management and increasing income."
