President Song Hacheol Stresses the Establishment of a Culture of Mutual Respect and Consideration
Mokpo National University has taken a bold step toward the successful launch of the "Integrated University" and regional development as it welcomes the new year of 2026, the Year of the Fire Horse (Byeong-o).
The university announced on January 6 that it held the 2026 New Year's Kickoff Ceremony on January 5 at the Jeongsangmuk Conference Room in the 70th Anniversary Hall on the Dorim Campus, with President Song Hacheol, key executives, and faculty and staff in attendance.

The event began with the presentation of appointment letters for the 2026 personnel changes, followed by the Academic Excellence Award ceremony, commendations for outstanding individuals and departments, the President's New Year's address, a resolution ceremony for integrity and the eradication of workplace bullying, and a pledge for personal information protection.
In particular, the ceremony included the presentation of the Academic Excellence Award to faculty members who enhanced the university's research competitiveness, as well as commendations for departments that achieved outstanding results in university operations, education, and administration over the past year, providing an opportunity to share organizational achievements and boost morale.
In his New Year's address, President Song Hacheol emphasized expectations for the "Integrated University," which is set to launch in March, and highlighted the roles of all members.
President Song encouraged the attendees, stating, "The valuable achievements of the past year were the result of the dedication and mature choices of all faculty and staff," and urged, "Let us take the launch of the Integrated University as a new starting point and faithfully fulfill our responsibility as a national university that grows together with the region."
All faculty and staff then recited a resolution for integrity and the eradication of workplace bullying, pledging to establish a culture of mutual respect and consideration within the organization. Through the personal information protection pledge, they also publicly declared their commitment to complying with relevant laws and carrying out responsible administration.
A university official stated, "This kickoff ceremony was an opportunity to reaffirm the fundamental values and principles of university administration at this critical juncture of the Integrated University's launch," adding, "We shared our determination to ensure stable university operations based on integrity and trust, both internally and externally."
