Icheon City Completes Installation of Sewer Network Flow Meter Monitoring System

Installed at 14 Locations Across Icheon, Danwol, and Majang

Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on January 6 that it has completed the installation of a 'sewer network flow meter monitoring system' at 14 locations across Icheon, Danwol, and Majang districts.

This project was implemented to prevent road flooding caused by sewer pipeline backflow and other issues, and the city carried it out over a seven-month period from May to December last year.

The city explained that with the establishment of this system, it is now able to continuously monitor the sewage flow inside the sewer pipelines, which was previously difficult to check visually, allowing for early detection of potential problems and enabling a swift response.

Kim Kyunghee, Mayor of Icheon, stated, "We will actively utilize the monitoring system going forward to enhance the management of sewer facilities and create a safer and more pleasant urban environment."
