"Exports Lead, Domestic Sales Push"… Renault Korea Sells Total 6,749 Units in Domestic and Export Markets in December Last Year

Domestic Sales for 2025 Reach 52,271 Units, Up 31.3% Year-on-Year

There were no brakes, even at the end of the year.

Renault Korea (CEO Nicolas Paris) recorded a total sales performance of 6,749 units in December 2025, with 4,771 units sold in the domestic market and 1,978 units exported.

Last year, the company sold a total of 88,044 units, consisting of 52,271 units in the domestic market and 35,773 units exported.

Renault Korea’s domestic sales last month were led by the midsize SUV, Grand Koleos, which sold 3,479 units. Over the course of 2025, the Grand Koleos achieved total domestic sales of 40,877 units, also driving Renault Korea’s annual domestic performance.

In particular, the hybrid E-Tech model accounted for 35,352 units, or 86.5%, over the past year. The Grand Koleos Hybrid E-Tech features a parallel dual-motor drive system, delivering a best-in-class system output of 245 horsepower and excellent fuel efficiency of 15.7 km/L (based on the Techno trim’s official combined fuel economy).

The coupe-style SUV, Arkana, sold 775 units last month and 5,562 units in total during 2025. Notably, the Arkana 1.6 GTe, which offers a stylish SUV at a compact sedan price point, was chosen by nearly 83% of consumers, with 4,613 units sold. The Arkana 1.6 GTe is characterized by its proven 1.6L gasoline engine and Xtronic continuously variable transmission, providing an efficient official combined fuel economy of 13.6 km/L (based on 17-inch tires) and a smooth driving experience.

The compact electric SUV, Scenic E-Tech 100% Electric, recorded sales of 517 units last month. Renault Korea is currently offering a temporary company-funded subsidy to support customers in purchasing electric vehicles without financial burden, even at the end or beginning of the year when government EV subsidies are exhausted or undecided. The Scenic E-Tech, produced in France and imported for the domestic market, is equipped with LG Energy Solution’s high-performance 87 kWh NCM battery, enabling a maximum range of 460 km based on Ministry of Industry certification standards.

Renault Korea’s export performance in December included 370 units of the Grand Koleos (export name: New Renault Koleos), 832 units of the Arkana, and 776 units of Polestar’s electric performance SUV, the Polestar 4, for the North American market.

Last year, Renault Korea’s annual export performance decreased compared to the previous year, as exports of the Arkana-which has led overseas sales with over 300,000 units sold abroad from 2020 to last year-naturally declined, given that exports of new models such as the Grand Koleos and Polestar 4 are still in their early stages.

With overseas sales of new export models expected to ramp up this year, export performance is projected to improve.
