Jeongeup City Abolishes Income Requirements, Provides Treatment Cost Support for All Dementia Patients

Starting in January this year, Jeongeup City in Jeollabuk-do has completely abolished income requirements for dementia treatment support and now provides medication cost assistance to all dementia patients, officially launching the "Jeongeup-Style Dementia Responsibility System."

According to Jeongeup City on January 5, the expanded "Dementia Treatment Management Support Program" is a proactive welfare measure designed to prevent cases in which treatment is abandoned due to financial hardship and to share the burden of care for dementia patients and their families within the public sector.

All dementia patients who are registered residents of Jeongeup City and enroll at the Jeongeup City Dementia Safety Center are eligible for support, regardless of their income or assets. The program covers out-of-pocket costs for dementia medication and same-day consultation fees, reimbursed up to a maximum of 30,000 won per month.

With this initiative, Jeongeup City plans to further enhance its integrated management system, covering everything from preventive education and early screening to treatment linkage.
