Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province collected a total of 3.7 billion won in non-tax revenue arrears this year through intensive collection periods in both the first and second halves of the year, surpassing its own target of 3.2 billion won.
During this intensive collection period, the city encouraged voluntary payment of overdue amounts, while also increasing the fairness of collections by taking swift seizure actions against the assets of delinquent taxpayers and publicly releasing the names of those with large or habitual arrears, alongside strong collection measures and administrative sanctions.
In addition, the city took a strict approach toward those who neglected payment despite having the ability to pay, while providing practical support such as installment payment guidance for livelihood-based delinquent taxpayers, thereby strengthening the effectiveness of arrears management.
An official from Yangju City stated, "Non-tax revenue is an important source of funding for citizen welfare and various administrative services," and added, "We will continue to create a tax environment where diligent taxpayers are respected through fair and efficient arrears management."
