According to China's state-run Xinhua News Agency on January 5, Wang Yi, Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China (who also serves as Foreign Minister), held the "7th China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers' Strategic Dialogue" the previous day in Beijing with Ishaq Dar, Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Wang pointed out, "The current international situation is a mix of chaos and instability, and acts of 'unilateral bullying' are becoming increasingly severe." The term "bullying behavior," which Wang frequently uses, refers to the arrogance and unilateral harassment of powerful nations and also carries the meaning of collective ostracism.

He added, "The rapid changes in the situation in Venezuela have drawn significant attention from the international community," and continued, "We have never believed that any single country can act as the world's police, nor do we accept that any country can unilaterally appoint itself as an international judge."

This marks a direct criticism of the matter by China's top diplomat, following the Chinese Foreign Ministry's call for President Maduro's release.

Director Wang further stated, "We consistently oppose the use or threat of force in international relations, as well as imposing one country's will on another," and added, "China will resolutely uphold the United Nations Charter together with the international community, including Pakistan."

Deputy Prime Minister Dar reaffirmed, "Pakistan maintains its commitment to the 'One China' principle," and stated, "We will firmly support China in all matters concerning its core interests."

Deputy Prime Minister Dar also met with Ding Xuexiang, Vice Premier of the State Council of China and the sixth-ranking member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China, the previous day in Beijing. Vice Premier Ding expressed the intention to strengthen communication and coordination on major international and regional issues, accelerate the building of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era, and continue to enhance the well-being of the two peoples.

In response, Deputy Prime Minister Dar stated that Pakistan's friendly relations with China are the cornerstone of its foreign policy, and on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, he intends to further promote the continuous development of the two countries' strategic cooperative partnership.
