Takes Helm of Society Celebrating 50th Anniversary
Aims to Successfully Host International Academic Conference
Kim Youngseop, CEO and President of Toray Advanced Materials Korea, has been inaugurated as the President of the Polymer Society of Korea.
On January 5, Toray Advanced Materials Korea announced that Kim has taken office as the 43rd President of the Polymer Society of Korea. The society, founded in 1976, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
President Kim expressed his ambition to contribute to the advancement of academia and the materials industry, as well as to elevate the international standing of Korean polymer science, by strengthening collaboration among industry, academia, and research institutes, and by promoting active communication among members. In particular, he plans to successfully host an international academic conference featuring leading global scholars in celebration of the society's 50th anniversary.
With approximately 5,000 members currently active, the Polymer Society of Korea is a leading academic organization that has driven the development of polymer science and industry in Korea. President Kim’s term will run for one year, until December.
