Seom Air announced on January 5 that its first aircraft departed from Toulouse, France, on January 1 (local time) and landed at Gimpo International Airport on January 4. Seom Air had completed the acquisition process from the aircraft leasing company Avation on December 29, 2025. The registration number of the first aircraft is 'HL5264'.
The first aircraft arrived in South Korea via a ferry flight-meaning it flew without passengers or cargo-passing through four countries: Cairo in Egypt, Muscat in Oman, Nagpur in India, and Da Nang in Vietnam.
After completing the demonstration flights required for its Air Operator Certificate, Seom Air plans to conduct a test takeoff and landing at Goheung Airfield in Jeonnam, which is owned by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute and has a 1,200-meter runway, the same length as the Ulleungdo runway. This will take place in February in coordination with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Established in November 2022, Seom Air is a regional air mobility airline connecting cities and islands. The company is preparing to operate the Gimpo-Sacheon and Gimpo-Ulsan routes in the first half of this year, and plans to expand its operations to domestic and international airports such as Ulleungdo, Heuksando, Baengnyeongdo, and Tsushima in the future.
