A man in his 50s was apprehended by police in Junggok-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, after injuring one person with a weapon.
According to police and other sources on January 4, the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul arrested a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of attempted murder and is currently investigating him.
He is accused of injuring a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. B, an acquaintance, by wielding a weapon at a house in Junggok-dong at around 11:07 a.m.
Mr. A reportedly committed the crime after drinking alcohol with Mr. B at his residence. Police responded to a report stating "someone was stabbed with a knife" and arrested Mr. A at the scene as a flagrant offender.
The victim sustained an injury to his thigh and was transported to a hospital, but his life is not in danger, according to reports.
The police plan to determine whether to request an arrest warrant after investigating the specific motive for the crime.
