Reuniting With a Former Client as a Partner's Father
Couple Decides to Stay Together... "Father Will Be Held Accountable"
A story has emerged in which a man, while meeting the parents of his same-sex partner for the first time with the intention of marriage, encountered his prospective father-in-law, who turned out to be a former client from his past as a sex worker.
Recently, British media outlets such as The Sun and Daily Mail reported on the experience shared by a 28-year-old man, referred to as Mr. A, on social networking services (SNS). Mr. A’s name, nationality, and other personal details have not been disclosed.
Mr. A worked as a sex worker for about two years during his university days to pay for his tuition. One day, while visiting his boyfriend’s parents’ home, he realized that his boyfriend’s father was a regular client who had visited him about once every two weeks in the past.
Mr. A recounted that his boyfriend’s father’s expression changed immediately upon seeing him, displaying clear discomfort, and the atmosphere in the house quickly became tense. The situation was particularly delicate because the father and his gay son had only recently reconciled after a period of estrangement due to conflicts over his son’s sexuality.
While the rest of the family briefly stepped out, the boyfriend’s father approached Mr. A and asked him never to mention their past. He also demanded that Mr. A end his relationship with his son. However, Mr. A refused, stating that he had evidence such as photos exchanged during his time as a sex worker.
During dinner, the father barely spoke, and the boyfriend, unaware of the situation, apologized to Mr. A for what he perceived as his father’s rude behavior.
After much deliberation, Mr. A eventually revealed everything to his boyfriend. The boyfriend was initially shocked and cut off contact for several days, but later decided to continue the relationship and stated that he would also hold his father accountable. It has been reported that the couple is currently undergoing counseling together to overcome the shock and conflict caused by the incident.
As the story spread, online commenters expressed mixed reactions. Some argued that the partner and mother have the right to know the truth, while others cautioned that revealing such information without the consent of those involved could amount to outing, urging careful consideration.
