The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that Minister Kim Yoonduk will visit the United States for five days starting from the 5th to support Korean companies in securing infrastructure business contracts. During his visit, he plans to attend CES 2026, review exhibition halls of domestic and international companies, and inspect the operational strategies of an autonomous driving demonstration city in San Francisco.
On the 5th, Minister Kim will attend a ceremony for the Indiana eco-friendly ammonia plant project, which is being constructed by a Korean company. This project, supported by policy finance from both Korea and the United States, marks the first time the two countries are cooperating on such a large-scale plant business. The plant will capture and store carbon dioxide generated during hydrogen production from fossil fuels such as natural gas, thereby reducing emissions, and will produce and supply low-carbon ammonia using hydrogen.
He will then meet with James Patrick Danly, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy, to discuss ways to expand bilateral cooperation in infrastructure and policy finance. By introducing the technological capabilities of Korean companies and support systems such as policy funds, the ministry aims to facilitate contract awards and help Korean companies expand into the U.S. market. A working-level meeting with the World Bank is also scheduled.

He plans to visit the exhibition halls of Korean companies such as Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor, the Korea Pavilion organized by KOTRA, as well as booths of overseas companies like Amazon and Qualcomm, to observe the latest technological trends. He will also hold a meeting with small and medium-sized enterprises and startups in the land, infrastructure, and transport sector participating in the event.
On the 8th, he will visit Stanford University in San Francisco to hold a meeting with Korean students. The university is currently conducting an international cooperation R&D project with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. He also plans to visit Google Waymo to observe the operation status of unmanned robotaxis. At San Francisco Airport, he will inspect runway overrun prevention facilities installed at the runway ends.
