The Central Park Memorial Tower enshrines the spirits of soldiers, police officers, and student volunteer soldiers from Busan who sacrificed their lives for the nation after the establishment of the Republic of Korea in 1948. The Liberation Memorial Hall houses the memorial tablets of independence activists and patriots, while the Memorial Hall for the Spirits of the Victims of the 4·19 Revolution contains portraits of Busan citizens who contributed to democratization.
This New Year’s memorial ceremony was held in a solemn atmosphere to honor the noble spirit of sacrifice of those who gave their lives for the independence, democracy, freedom, and peace of the nation.
Namil Lee, Director of the Busan Regional Veterans Office, stated, "The staff of the Busan Regional Veterans Office will do their utmost together with veterans’ organizations for the independence patriots, national merit recipients, and their families who sacrificed and contributed to the existence of the nation and the development of a democratic society."
