Pocheon City selected the top 10 news stories for 2025 based on the results of a survey conducted among Pocheon citizens, citizen reporters, Pocheon PD, and journalists covering Pocheon City. The aim was to share the major policies implemented and changes achieved throughout the year with citizens, and to lay the foundation for the city's development in 2026.
The selected top 10 news stories evenly cover achievements in areas closely related to citizens' daily lives, including the expansion of metropolitan transportation networks, support for the local economy, revitalization of culture and tourism, enhancement of education and care infrastructure, improvement of living infrastructure, and disaster response.
In the field of transportation and mobility, the "Groundbreaking of the Entire Section of the Pocheon-Ogjeong Metropolitan Railroad" received the highest number of selections, ranking first among the top 10 news stories.
The groundbreaking of the metropolitan railroad is regarded as a key policy for improving access to the Seoul metropolitan area, enhancing residential conditions, and laying the foundation for balanced regional development.
