Uiseong’s 2026: Changing the “Pace of Administration”

Declaration of the AI, Airport, and Bio Industry Triad
Governor Kim Jusu: “Building the Future on Achievements”

Uiseong County has ushered in the new year of 2026 by signaling a full-scale leap forward, putting a shift in administrative paradigm and future growth strategies at the forefront.

Uiseong’s 2026: Changing the “Pace of Administration” Declaration of the AI-Airport-Bio Triangular Axis: County Governor Kim Jusu Says, "Designing the Future on Top of Achievements"

On January 2, Uiseong County held the 2026 New Year Kickoff Ceremony at the Uiseong Culture Center, with over 600 employees in attendance, to share the new year’s county administration direction and key priorities.

The ceremony began with the reading of the Civil Servant Charter, serving as a reminder of the mission and responsibility of public officials. It also provided an opportunity for all staff to reaffirm the direction of change chosen by Uiseong County amid a rapidly evolving policy environment.

In his New Year’s address, County Governor Kim Jusu presented the core keywords for county administration in 2026: strengthening AI-based administrative capabilities; revitalizing the regional economy in connection with the airport; expanding future growth engines centered on the cell culture and bio industries; realizing a “Happy Uiseong” through customized policies for each stage of life; achieving sustainable rural communities through agricultural innovation; creating safe and dignified rural spaces; and accelerating the transformation of the tourism industry structure.

Notably, Governor Kim emphasized strategies centered on technology and industry, while also reiterating the fundamentals of administration. He stated, “The speed and methods of administration must change, but our fundamentals and principles must become even stronger,” and urged all public officials to practice field-oriented, responsible administration.

Governor Kim Jusu declared, “We will not simply preserve the achievements we have built together with our residents, but will use those achievements as a foundation to elevate Uiseong’s future to the next level. I will approach county administration with a sense of responsibility until the very end.”

Going forward, Uiseong County plans to focus the collective capabilities of all public officials on achieving county goals, and to concentrate administrative efforts on producing tangible policy outcomes that residents can experience in their daily lives.

This year’s kickoff ceremony was less a “New Year’s Resolution” and more a “Declaration of Administrative Shift.” Whether Uiseong County’s 2026 strategy-spanning AI administration, airport economy, and the bio industry-will move beyond planning and deliver real results remains a test of the new year’s administrative execution.
