Priority Given to Students from Rural and Small Schools
Online, Blended, and Residential Formats... Customized Classes
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on January 2 that it will operate the high school-university joint education program "Dream Campus" for prospective third-year high school students starting from January 5.
This educational program, which will run until January 26, aims to support students in exploring career paths and academic majors, as well as expanding their options for course selection. A total of 220 students will participate in 16 courses. In particular, priority participation is given to students from rural, island regions and small schools, with a focus on narrowing educational gaps.
The program is divided into online classes, blended learning (in-person plus online), and residential formats, depending on the nature and circumstances of each subject. Of the 16 subjects, five online courses focus on theory and inquiry to enhance accessibility, while the remaining 11 blended and residential courses are centered on in-person activities and practical training to deepen learning.
From January 13 to 16, intensive residential programs will be held at Mokpo National University, Suncheon National University, and Chosun University. During this period, specialized and practical classes such as ▲practical art major training ▲dance and body ▲theater production practice ▲comic content production will be conducted. Through these programs, students will have the opportunity to experience hands-on, field-based learning using the universities' major-related infrastructure.
The provincial office of education plans to enhance the quality and operational stability of the classes by prioritizing student safety and learning support through close cooperation with the universities.
Park Cheolwan, Director of Secondary Education, stated, "Dream Campus is a program designed in line with the high school credit system to help students concretize their career paths and deepen their learning in connection with their majors," adding, "By intensively operating practical specialized subjects in a residential format, we will effectively help students develop both major suitability and competency."
