Gurye County Collaborates with Jirisan National Park Authority
Gurye County in South Jeolla Province announced that it began operating the Hwaeom Parking Lot free of charge starting in January 2026.
This free opening is a measure based on an agreement signed between Gurye County and the Jeollanam-do Office of Jirisan National Park, Korea National Park Service. The aim is to provide convenient parking for visitors to Jirisan National Park and to offer a better environment for both local residents and tourists by making the parking lot free of charge.
The Hwaeomsa area is a popular destination that attracts numerous tourists every year, and especially during peak tourist seasons, visitors have often experienced inconvenience due to parking shortages. In response, Gurye County, in cooperation with the Jeollanam-do Office of Jirisan National Park, decided to open the Hwaeom Parking Lot free of charge.
Gurye County expects this measure to have a positive impact on the local economy and plans to strengthen various tourism infrastructures to attract even more visitors to Gurye.
