Customized Welfare to Address Low Birth Rate and Aging Population
Pledges to Build Regional Transportation Networks
Injung Kim, a member of the Jeonnam Provincial Assembly, will officially announce her candidacy for Jindo County Governor at 2 p.m. on January 3 at the Injung Kim Civil Communication Office.
On January 2, Assemblywoman Kim stated, "I have decided to run for Jindo County Governor to further advance Jindo at a time when change, innovation, unity, and progress are urgently needed."
In her announcement, she plans to emphasize, "The core of county administration is the residents," and pledge to "become a governor who listens to the voices of the people and responds directly in the field."
Assemblywoman Kim presented her key directions for future county administration: providing health and welfare services that combine care and consideration, building essential infrastructure to drive regional development, strengthening the competitiveness of future agriculture, fisheries, and livestock industries, advancing the culture and tourism sector, revitalizing the local economy, and investing in people.
In particular, she pledged to address the structural challenges of low birth rates and an aging population by implementing Jindo-style customized welfare and youth policies. She also announced plans to promote major social overhead capital (SOC) projects, such as the Jindo-Gwangju Expressway, the Mokpo-Jindo National Railway Network, and the construction of the Sinjodo Bridge, by including them in national plans.
In the agriculture, fisheries, and livestock sectors, she aims to attract the Korea Gim Industry Promotion Agency to establish Jindo as a hub for the gim industry, and to enhance the added value of local specialties by building an agricultural and fisheries distribution center.
Additionally, she stated her intention to establish a sustainable foundation for the livestock industry by stabilizing management for livestock farmers, strengthening quarantine measures, and improving the environment.
In the field of culture and tourism, she plans to expand stay-type and sensory tourism content under the goal of "See, Feel, and Stay in Jindo," and to foster small and medium-sized industries based on local specialty resources. She is also considering a plan to pay a portion of the county's construction contract payments in local currency.
Assemblywoman Kim said, "Jindo's transformation and progress can only be achieved together with the residents," and added, "I will reflect the aspirations of the people in county administration and prove them through action."
Assemblywoman Kim is recognized for her field-oriented legislative activities to address local issues and improve the quality of life for residents, having previously served as both a Jindo County Council member and a Jeonnam Provincial Assembly member.
