Iksan Hometown Love Donations Hit All-Time High, Double Last Year’s Amount

Joint Promotions Such as the Scaling Up Event Prove Effective

Iksan Hometown Love Donations Hit All-Time High, Double Last Year’s Amount Iksan City in Jeonbuk Province achieved its highest fundraising record ever by collecting 1.485 billion won last year, the third year since the implementation of the Hometown Love Donation Program, more than doubling the amount raised in the first year. Iksan City set a new all-time record last year, the third year since the implementation of the Hometown Love Donation Program, by raising 1.485 billion won. This figure more than doubled from the 590 million won collected in the first year of the program in 2023, a result attributed to the city's strategic marketing and proactive administration.

From 'McDonald's Collaboration' to 'Private Platforms'... The Victory of Three Major Strategies

This achievement by Iksan City stemmed from its thoroughly calculated 'three major strategies.' First, the collaboration with global company McDonald's proved to be a game changer.

The donation event linked to the 'Iksan Sweet Potato Mozzarella Burger,' launched last summer, set a record by selling 2.4 million units within a month of its release and attracted approximately 200 million won in donations during the typically slow donation period of July and August alone.

The use of private platforms also stood out. In October last year, the city partnered with the private platform 'Wegive'-the first such collaboration in North Jeolla Province-and launched an intensive fundraising campaign. As a result, 1 billion won was raised in just the year-end period, with more than half of this amount coming through the private platform. This far exceeds the national average share of private platforms, which stands at 21.9%.

How Donations Changed Citizens' Lives... Welfare Returned through the '100-Won Bus'

Iksan City did not simply accumulate the donations but immediately returned them to citizens through tangible welfare initiatives.

The first such project, the '100-Won City Bus Fare for Children and Youth,' received an enthusiastic response as a universal welfare model in which donors' goodwill is directly delivered to the future generation of the region.

This year, the city plans to further expand inclusive welfare by creating a healing space where people with and without disabilities can come together through the 'Iksan Love Healing Forest Project.'

2026 Advancement Strategy... Targeting '200,000 Won of Happiness'

This year, Iksan City is preparing for another leap forward in line with the expansion of the tax deduction limit.

With the deduction rate for donations exceeding 100,000 won and up to 200,000 won significantly increased, the city will strengthen its lineup of premium return gifts in the 50,000 to 60,000 won range and actively identify designated donation projects to provide donors with clear 'reasons to give.'

A city official stated, "The precious intentions of each and every donor are driving changes in the daily lives of our citizens. We will continue to lead change in Iksan with transparent and sincere administration."
