On January 2, Sangjin Park, President of Korea Development Bank, delivered his New Year’s address, stating, "2025 was a year that demonstrated the strength of KDB despite challenging internal and external conditions," and emphasized, "In 2026, we must focus on achieving real growth for both the Korean economy and KDB."

President Park identified the fostering of industries and companies as KDB’s top priority for this year. He said, "We must dedicate ourselves to KDB’s core mission of nurturing industries and enterprises," adding, "It is important to maximize the impact of supporting advanced strategic industries through collaboration with the National Growth Fund, revitalize regional economies, strengthen investments in small and venture businesses, and support the restructuring of traditional key industries."

Continuous profit generation is also a goal for this year. President Park remarked, "KDB’s profitability serves as the fundamental strength needed to maintain policy finance without wavering," and urged, "We must solidify our position in the market by expanding investment assets and rebalancing assets and liabilities, while also seeking new opportunities in the global market and delivering results by enhancing our investment banking capabilities."

He also called for fostering a culture of communication with a sense of ownership. He emphasized, "All employees should make decisions with a sense of ownership and demonstrate their capabilities through smooth communication both internally and externally."

President Park stated, "As we move toward our goal of a great leap forward for the Korean economy, we should look beyond short-term achievements and consider the next 20 years with a long-term perspective," adding, "In the hopeful and dynamic year of 2026, let us trust and cooperate with one another to boldly write a new chapter in KDB’s history."
