Former Daejeon Education Director Oh Seokjin to Hold Publication Ceremony at 2 p.m. on the 10th

The publication ceremony for the book by Oh Seokjin, former Director of Education at the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education and current head of the Happy Education Connection Community, who has officially announced his candidacy for Daejeon Superintendent of Education, will be held on January 10 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Room 201, Exhibition Hall 1 of the Daejeon Convention Center.

The publication ceremony for the book "Oh Seokjin Answers: Education that Nurtures People" will be divided into a pre-event and two main sessions, spanning approximately three hours. During the event, author Oh Seokjin will share vivid stories from his educational field experience, now compiled into a single book, and present directions for the future of education.

This event, divided into a pre-event and two main sessions, will feature a book signing by the author, various performances, poetry recitations, and other cultural activities, as well as the first session's commemorative ceremony and the second session's book talk show.

The highlight of the day, the second session talk show, will be hosted by announcer Song Hyemin. The session will cover questions about the author's 40-year educational journey, from his childhood and university years-the starting point of his educational career-to his roles as teacher, vice principal, principal, supervisor, superintendent, overseas education center director, and director of education. Oh Seokjin plans to present his vision for the future of Daejeon education based on a "people-centered educational philosophy."

In particular, the event will provide an opportunity for Oh Seokjin to share insights, based on his field experience, on how to design education and implement administration, as well as how to bridge classroom gaps and achieve harmony, drawing on the wisdom of Solomon.

Additionally, the event will highlight the educational values and direction of Oh Seokjin, a specialist in primary and secondary education, and is expected to clearly address the questions that the Daejeon education community has about the future of education in Daejeon.

Author Oh Seokjin, former Director of Education at the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, "This publication ceremony is not simply an introduction of my career and book, but a forum to re-examine the starting point and direction of education." He emphasized, "Small changes that occur in the classroom should become the starting point of education policy, and reconnecting this flow was the purpose of publishing this book."

He added, "Education, before evaluating anyone, is about waiting first," and expressed hope that "this meeting at the publication ceremony will broaden the scope of thought surrounding education and lead to discussions that put people at the center."

Meanwhile, on December 15 of last year, Oh Seokjin officially declared his candidacy for Daejeon Superintendent of Education through consecutive press conferences at the Daejeon City Council and the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education. He proposed satisfaction strategies in five key areas-education, safety, welfare, communication, and the future-to realize "education that nurtures people, a Daejeon education that satisfies all five senses."

Oh Seokjin graduated from Gongju High School, majored in English Education at Gongju National University of Education, and earned his master's and doctoral degrees in English Education from Korea National University of Education, as well as a master's degree in Korean as a Foreign Language from Hannam University Graduate School.

After beginning his teaching career as a middle school teacher, Oh Seokjin taught at HoeDeok Middle School, Dongshin High School, Daejeon Science High School, and Chungnam Technical High School. He also served as vice principal at Daejeon Songchon Middle School and Daejeon Songchon High School, principal at Goejeong High School, and Director of Education at the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education.

He also held administrative positions as supervisor and superintendent, and as director of the Korean Education Center in Sao Paulo. After leaving the teaching profession in February 2022, he has served as head of the Happy Education Connection Community since January 2023, working to advance education in Daejeon.

The Happy Education Connection Community is a non-profit organization with a vision to connect the future and education, as well as happiness and education. It conducts a wide range of activities in educational administration and research, including consulting on current educational issues for students, faculty, parents, and other education stakeholders.
