Yangpyeong County Completes Preparations for Major Tourism Transformation in 2026... Launches Public-Private Cooperation Network

Yangpyeong County in Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jin Jinseon) held the '2026 Yangpyeong Tourism Cooperation Network Workshop' at Bloomvista on December 30, and discussed cooperation strategies for the sustainable development of local tourism.

This workshop brought together key stakeholders leading Yangpyeong tourism-including the Tourism Strategy Committee, Festival Promotion Committee, and Health Tour Center-along with the Tourism Division, to proactively respond to the changing tourism landscape and strengthen public-private cooperation systems.


At the event, the chairperson of the Tourism Strategy Committee stated, "Tourism is no longer an individual project but a comprehensive process created together by the community," adding, "I hope today’s gathering will serve as a meaningful starting point for developing a new cooperation model for Yangpyeong tourism."


The chairperson of the Festival Promotion Committee remarked, "Local festivals are the face of tourism and a vital bridge connecting residents and visitors," and pledged, "We will continue to promote the unique charm of Yangpyeong through festivals rooted in local identity and participation."


The director of the Health Tour Center commented, "Yangpyeong Health Tour, which began in 2015, is now at a turning point," and expressed determination, "Looking toward 2026, we will collaborate with the Tourism Strategy Committee, Festival Promotion Committee, and various local stakeholders to elevate the Health Tour to the next level."


Additionally, the head of the Tourism Division noted, "This is the first time the Tourism Strategy Committee, Festival Promotion Committee, and Health Tour Center have come together," and pledged, "The administration will do its utmost to connect voices from the field to policy and to establish a sustainable tourism foundation."


In his welcoming remarks, Yangpyeong County Governor Jin Jinseon said, "Whenever I visit the field, I often mention 'tourism,'" and highlighted, "We have made significant efforts to revitalize tourism, including the Namhangang River lighting, Namhangang River terrace, Yanggang Island suspension bridge, Dumulmeori National Garden, and the Yanggeuncheon walking trail."


He continued, "Above all, the greatest achievement is that residents themselves recognize the importance of tourism," expressing gratitude to everyone involved in the development of Yangpyeong tourism, and added, "I hope today’s event will be a meaningful opportunity to design the future of Yangpyeong tourism together."


Meanwhile, the workshop featured sessions on △ Tourism trends and changes for 2026 and the direction of central government tourism policy (presented by Dr. Ha Dongwon), △ Major achievements in Yangpyeong tourism in 2025 and key projects for 2026, and △ Open discussion and networking. Participants expressed hope that such opportunities for communication would continue in the future.


Yangpyeong County plans to actively incorporate the discussions from this workshop into its tourism policies and projects for 2026.
