On January 1, Korean Air held its "First Customer of the New Year" event to welcome the first passenger to arrive in Korea on one of its flights.
This year's lucky winner was Xu Shuangyan, a Chinese national in her twenties, who arrived at Incheon International Airport's Terminal 2 early that morning on flight KE864 from Beijing.
Korean Air prepared special gifts for Ms. Xu, including two round-trip Prestige class tickets between Beijing and Korea, a one-night stay in a Grand Suite King room at the Grand Hyatt Incheon, and a welcoming bouquet. Key Korean Air executives, including Gwangho Ko, Head of Passenger Business Headquarters, Kiwon Song, Branch Manager of Incheon Passenger Service Branch, and Donghyeop Lee, Officer of Passenger Transport Department, attended the welcoming event to offer their congratulations.
Ms. Xu stated, "I have always been interested in Korean culture, and I plan to visit Korea's globally popular tourist destinations and enjoy the culture firsthand. I am going to travel to major sites I have seen in dramas and movies, and also attend concerts."
Korean Air has set a goal for the new year to provide the highest level of safe operations and service, befitting its status as Korea's flagship airline and a global network carrier. Based on this, the company plans to establish itself as a trusted and beloved airline for everyone.
