Kyungpook National University to Host '2026 New Year's Concert' for 80th Anniversary Featuring Singer Lee Younghyun and More

Kyungpook National University (President Huh Youngwoo) will celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2026 by hosting the "Kyungpook National University 80th Anniversary 2026 New Year's Concert" together with local citizens. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. on January 16 at the university’s main auditorium.

First launched in 2008, this New Year's concert marks its 19th edition this year. It has become a signature cultural event for both Kyungpook National University and the local community, featuring a diverse array of high-quality performances every year.

This year’s concert, themed "The Grand Moment, KNU80"-the university’s 80th anniversary main slogan-will feature a wide range of artists, including singer Lee Younghyun, fusion Korean traditional music band Hwa-Ae-Rak, vocal ensemble S-CLASS, and LED tron dance team S-Plava.

The concert will be conducted by Lee Kwangho, with performances by the Dio Orchestra.

Lee Younghyun will perform "Butterfly" and "Resignation," Hwa-Ae-Rak will present "Beautiful Country" and "Set Sail," and S-CLASS will deliver "Burn Me," a song from the musical Yi Sun-sin. The concert will offer a stage where audiences can enjoy Korean traditional music, classical music, and K-pop all in one place.

All seats are free of charge.

Tickets can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis through Ticket Link. The first round of reservations opens on January 5, and the second round on January 9.
