On January 1, the first day of the Byeong-O year, Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, began his New Year’s schedule by paying respects at the Memorial Tower in Mokpo Memorial Park and the statue of President Kim Daejung in Naman Central Park.
Governor Kim visited the Memorial Tower to honor the noble sacrifice of the patriots and fallen heroes, reaffirming his commitment to Jeollanam-do’s administration for the New Year. He then paid tribute at the statue of President Kim Daejung, reflecting on the values of democracy and peace.
Governor Kim stated, "Last year, Jeollanam-do established itself as a hub for artificial intelligence (AI) and energy transition, achieving results that open the future for South Korea. This year, we will take a greater leap forward as a province of grand unity, grand projects, and grand revival, creating changes that residents can truly feel."
He added, "We will focus our administrative capabilities so that each and every resident’s life improves and hope spreads throughout Jeollanam-do," emphasizing, "The support and participation of our residents are the greatest driving force for the province’s development."
