Strengthening Tailored Welfare for Families and Escort Services for Seniors

Mikyung Kim, Mayor of Eunpyeong District in Seoul, stated in this year's New Year's address, "I will immerse myself in the lives of our residents to provide each person with the support that suits them best."
In her New Year's address on January 1, Mayor Kim said, "When I meet and talk with residents, I realize that even though we live in the same neighborhood, everyone has different needs," adding, "I want to provide help that truly fits each person's life."

To achieve this, the district will strengthen customized welfare services tailored to each stage of life. For families raising children, the district will not only expand childcare facilities but also provide support for mental health, ensuring happiness for both children and parents. For single-person households, neighbor communication programs and daily care support will continue.
In particular, for senior citizens, the district will offer an escort service linked to exclusive call taxis to ease the burden of traveling to and from hospitals. For young adults preparing for independence, the district will operate the "Cafe Episode," established last year, to help them create their own workplaces and build their futures.
Additionally, the district will promote the integrated development of the Seoul Innovation Park site near Bulgwang Station and the Susaek and DMC Stations. At the plaza created in conjunction with the opening of the GTX-A metropolitan express train, festivals will be held in collaboration with local businesses to create a space where people want to stay.
In terms of living infrastructure, the district will create green spaces and natural rest areas along Bulgwangcheon and Gupabalcheon, and expand libraries as cultural spaces where residents can gather, learn, and communicate.
In the field of education, the district will operate programs in collaboration with leading domestic universities, providing opportunities for residents to attend university lectures at community centers. Participatory administration will also be expanded, allowing residents-from youth to seniors-to directly propose and decide on policies through public forums that bring together all generations.
Mayor Kim emphasized, "I want to build Eunpyeong into a city where each person's life is respected and where different experiences come together in harmony," adding, "Eunpyeong will be the foundation that embraces your lives, so that everyone can become the protagonist of their own daily lives and write their own present and future."
