"Striving to Address Hardships in People's Livelihoods"
Jang Donghyuk, leader of the People Power Party, marked the New Year of 2026 by declaring, "We will protect the liberal democracy and rule of law of the Republic of Korea, and open a future of freedom, prosperity, reconciliation, and unity."
In his New Year's address released on the 31st, Jang pledged, "With a determination as strong as if I were cutting through bone, I will work even harder for the people and our country," and promised, "I will repay the people not with words but with actions, not with slogans but with results."

He especially emphasized, "We will build a country where young people can achieve their dreams by working hard at good jobs, and where small business owners and the self-employed can work with enthusiasm." He added, "We will vigorously move toward a new Republic of Korea where everyone can live with peace of mind, free from worries about housing, jobs, or crime."
Jang also stated, "I will do everything I can to address the hardships in people's livelihoods, to lift the spirits of the people, and to help improve their lives even a little." He added, "I will be the most hardworking, most responsible, and most reliable partner for the people."
