Over 1,600 Public Officials Produced Since 1996, Demonstrating the Success of a Systematic Curriculum
Establishing a Practical Training Environment with Early Adoption of "Rotational Physical Fitness Test" Equipment
The Department of Police Administration at Keimyung University (President Shin Ilhee) once again demonstrated its top-tier national competitiveness in 2025 by producing a total of 57 public service talents, including 8 officer candidates.
This year, the Department of Police Administration at Keimyung University achieved outstanding results in producing high-ranking public officials at grade 7 or above.

Specifically, the department produced a total of 8 officer-level passers: 3 police officer candidates, 3 coast guard officer candidates, 1 fire officer, and 1 regional talent for grade 7 positions.
In addition, 39 police officers, 8 grade 9 civil servants, and 2 military officers also began their public service careers. Notably, it is rare for any police administration department nationwide to produce as many as 8 officer-level passers in a single year, highlighting the department's exceptional quality in educational capability.
Since its establishment in 1996, the Department of Police Administration at Keimyung University has produced approximately 1,300 police officers, including 35 police officer candidates.
When including all public safety fields such as prosecution, courts, corrections, and probation, the total number of national public officials produced by the department reaches around 1,600.
This achievement is primarily driven by the department's close, track-specific guidance provided from the very beginning of students' admission.
The department has established a comprehensive support system that enables students to focus solely on exams, offering customized counseling from faculty specializing in police studies, criminology, and law, as well as operating its own study dormitory, providing scholarships, organizing field training, and inviting distinguished guest lecturers.
Keimyung University has also established a top-tier practical training infrastructure nationwide in preparation for the full implementation of the new "rotational physical fitness test (pass/fail system)" for police officers starting in 2026.
In response to the change from the previous point-based system for each event to a new format that evaluates practical job skills-such as obstacle running, wall climbing, and rescue, all while wearing a 4.2 kg vest-the department proactively introduced the same measurement equipment used in the official National Police Agency assessment model.
Through this, students repeatedly train under the same conditions as the actual test, acquiring on-site response capabilities.
Heo Kyungmi, Head of the Department of Police Administration, stated, "This year's achievements are the result of the students' passion combined with the department's systematic support," adding, "We will continue to foster professional talents responsible for national safety through an advanced educational environment tailored to the rapidly changing recruitment system."
