300 Million Won Invested from Lottery Fund
Boilers, Electrical Systems, and More Replaced
Iksan City in North Jeolla Province has completed a facility enhancement project for 'Shingwang House,' a senior care facility, with 300 million won in funding from the Lottery Fund.
According to the city on December 31, this project was selected as part of this year's local government Lottery Fund initiatives. Its purpose is to strengthen the safety of aging social welfare facilities and improve living environments.
The city replaced old boilers with high-efficiency equipment to resolve heating inconveniences during winter, and completely upgraded the electrical wiring, including high-voltage power equipment and distribution panels, to enhance safety and prevent accidents such as fires.
Additionally, window and door replacements have improved insulation performance, and the resulting energy efficiency is expected to help reduce public utility costs.
A city official stated, "This project is a meaningful example of the Lottery Fund being reinvested into welfare for local seniors," and added, "We will continue to actively utilize the Lottery Fund and other national and provincial resources to ensure the safety and improve the environment of senior welfare facilities."
Meanwhile, the Lottery Fund is financed by lottery proceeds and is used to support the socially disadvantaged and public interest projects. Iksan City continues to use this fund to steadily expand welfare infrastructure for vulnerable groups such as seniors, children, and people with disabilities.
