Doosan Enerbility announced on December 31 that it has signed an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) supply contract with Yahwol Offshore Wind for the development of the Yeonggwang Yahwol Offshore Wind Farm with a capacity of 104MW.
The Yeonggwang Yahwol Offshore Wind Farm project involves installing 13 units of Doosan Enerbility’s 8MW-class offshore wind turbines (DS205-8MW) in the waters off Nakwol-myeon, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do. The value of the supply contract is 575 billion won.
Through this contract, Doosan Enerbility will not only supply its independently developed 8MW offshore wind turbines, but also carry out EPC work across the entire development of the wind farm.
This is the first time Doosan Enerbility has signed a supply contract for its 8MW offshore wind turbines. Developed independently in Korea in 2022 and internationally certified by UL, the 8MW-class offshore wind turbines are specifically designed for the Korean environment, which features lower wind speeds compared to European countries.
